Tell Us

Q. What advice would you give to recent new hires?

A. Have fun! Be silly and goofy and don’t be afraid to make a fool of yourself when you’re with your client because you’re working with young kids for the most part and they won’t judge you for being a goofball.

Q. How has Beacon helped you in your career development?

A. Beacon took me as a kid who just graduated college who had little knowledge of what ABA and ASD is. From there Beacon taught me more than I could have imagined about ABA and ASD and how to perform at my peak with the children and families we work with. Beacon helped me find a field I have come to really love working in and a field I never would have imagined working in before. Now, I am back in school as a graduate student to learn even more about ABA and ASD and Beacon is helping me earn a Master’s degree financially and academically through support from my supervisors.

Q. What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

A. I think what I enjoy the most about my role is always being able to help prove stereotypes wrong about children who have ASD with the things many think our kiddos can’t do and showing that they really can do a lot more than most people assume they can.
